Welcome to the Bud Joshua John Panko Memorial Fund Web site! A Mission to Serve A Little Boy Who Believed Bud Joshua John Panko December 14, 1989 to June 3, 1999 Bud, age 9 was killed June 3 while walking with his mother to help his father at their restaurant the Idlewile Inn in St Cloud WI. He dropped his basketball on the road and went to retrieve it and was hit by a milk truck. It was an unavoidable tragedy and the family holds no blame towards the truck driver. This last school year Bud attended St. Paul's Lutheran school in the town of Forest East of Fond du Lac. He thrived in this small school atmosphere where values are emphasized and practiced. In that 9 months he changed dramatically. His belief and trust in God influenced his family and his classmates tremendously. He was not afraid to show his love of God or his love of his parents. When asked to write a story about his favorite idol he chose his mother. Family members and friends feel that something good must come from this tragic accident. Bud loved basketball and carried one with him most of the time. Bud loved all kind of sports, but most of all basketball. Bud's biggest dream was to have a gym in his school. Had Buds life not been cut so short he would have continued to spread his light of faith to many. But that was not meant to be. What better way to continue the spirit of his life than to make Bud's dream of a gymnasium a reality thereby making sports programs available to students at St. Pauls? Bud's parents Dave an Brenda Panko have set up a memorial fund to make his dream of a gymnasium at his school come true. Donations may be directed to the St. Paul's/Bud Panko Memorial Fund, Home Town Bank, 1200 Main Street, St. Cloud, WI. 53079. This site had 2259 visitors from 7/10/99 to 12/2/99.
