The Washington County Fair fund raising effort was a huge success. We wish to thank all that participated in any way, from the organizers of the effort to those who gave gifts to the fund or bought backstage passes. We also want to thank those who took the time to read the posters and were inspired to hug their kids a few extra times.

We especially want to thank Steve Johnson of All State Insurance. Steve is a good friend of Bud's Uncle Dan. He has a precious 2-year-old daughter and was deeply moved by this tragedy. He and Dan were going to be at the fair representing their companies so he began the effort to contact the managers of the scheduled entertainers. He was able to get 6 backstage passes for Trace Adkins and organized the efforts to present the tickets for auction with the help of WBWI. He went on to procure 3 guitars and had them signed by Styx, The Oakridge Boys and Trace Adkins. The guitars will be presented for auction in the future.

Interviewing Steve Johnson

Many thanks to Rick Mc Kay and the rest of the WBWI staff who did such an excellent job of publicizing this effort and auctioning the backstage passes.

Thanks to Hanke Trucking and Kirk Langhoff the manager of Little Ceaser's and a third individual who wishes to remain anonymous for purchasing the backstage passes for Trace Adkins.

Thanks to Cheryl Kuhaupt from the Hartford Music Center for donating a quitar.

Thanks also to the Oakridge Boys, Styx and Trace Adkins for signing the quitars. Thanks to Joe Bonsall of the Oakridge Boys for signing this web site. (See the July Guestbook)

We wish to extend our thanks to the Lion's Club and Auto Glass Specialists for displaying the posters and collection buckets.

It is difficult to assess the actual amount of money collected as a result of this effort because some donations were mailed later. The total of cash collected plus the sale of back stage passes was $1500. The guitars will be auctioned in the future.
